Thank you, Neighbourhood Small Grants, for supporting the 2025 season of Revelstoke’s Bikes, Beers, & Babes! This season was all about rolling together, learning new skills, and celebrating the joy of riding as a community of women mountain bikers in Revelstoke.
It started with some learning, laughs, great snacks and big smiles at the bike maintenance clinic with local bike mechanic Vincent from High Line Mtb repair shop. Learning how to pre-ride check, fix flats, break chains, adjust brakes, and keep our rides running smoothly. For many of us, it was the first time taking a closer look at the inner workings of our trusty steeds — and the laughter and encouragement made it feel less like a workshop and more like a gathering of friends.
Our weekly rides took place every Tuesday evening, rain or shine…but not during thunderstorms! We had 22 rides, with 70+ individual riders showing up throughout the season.
Then came the highlight of the summer: two unforgettable ride days of about 50 ladies at Revelstoke Mountain Resort. The trails were buzzing with energy as our group tackled new terrain, cheered each other on, and celebrated at lunchtime après with donated prizes and great deals from The Mac.
As the leaves turned and the season wound down, we traded helmets for bowling shoes at our end‑of‑season party. Strikes and gutter balls alike were met with laughter, and the evening was a perfect reminder that our group is about more than just biking — it’s about friendship, support, and creating memories together.
What This Year Meant
- We grew our skills and confidence on and off the bike
- We strengthened bonds with local businesses and the resort community
- We built a space where women could ride, learn, and celebrate together
Looking ahead: We’re excited to keep the momentum going — more clinics, more ride days, and more moments that remind us why this group matters so much.
