It was a wonderful experience! I’m very happy that I was able to bring people together in a friendly and welcoming environment and teach simple sewing skills to people who were interested in learning.
It was amazing to have participants ranging in age from 12 to 65. They learned very easily how to use leftover fabric scraps to sew practical and useful coasters.
The most difficult part of the whole experience was finding a place to hold the workshop. Unfortunately, the community centre in my area was not helpful, and the process was so frustrating that I almost gave up on the project. Finally, after a long wait and with the help of the NSG project coordinator, I was able to secure a space and make the workshop happen.
Overall, it was a very rewarding experience. I would be happy to offer free sewing workshops from time to time and teach different sewing techniques, as long as finding an affordable space is not a problem.
