In December 2020, we organized the contest “Cuentos en Familia” or “Family Storytime”. Social media allowed that, despite the distance and how challenging 2020 was, families can share Christmas stories or stories with more members of the community.
This contest was a perfect pretext for families to show their talents, have fun and inspire more families to connect with their roots. Spanish is part of the identity of the Latino community, and what better celebration than to share with the family.
I share some words from one of the families that participated:
“I wanted to take advantage of the good disposition of my daughters to rehearse and then record and thus achieve a beautiful family experience. By shooting an unusual video, we gave our families the opportunity, at home, to enjoy the girls “on stage.” When I asked my oldest daughter what she would like to comment on, she said, “I liked the idea of telling something and being able to win.” My youngest daughter said “Thank you”
Gracias Vancouver Foundations, without your support it would not have been possible!
