We held our Block Watch Pizza Event on August 13th, 2025, at Riverfront Park. The purpose of the event was to introduce new residents to Block Watch, and for the neighbours to get acquainted with each other. The Block Watch leads canvassed all the residents of Riverside Gardens ahead of time to provide invitations. Flyers were created and posted around the block long complex as well. The City of Vancouver Reduce Waste Education group kindly supplied flyers and handout materials to us, as the other purpose of the event was to inform residents about the benefits and proper methods for recycling to reduce waste and maintain proper composting in the bins. We were also fortunate this year to be co-sponsored by our Building Maintenance company, which generously contributed the Pizzas from Fresh Slice for our gathering. Over 61 people attended and enjoyed pizza, watermelon, soft drinks (also donated) and desserts that the residents had brought to share at the picnic site. New friendships were formed as we welcomed new residents to the neighbourhood. We would like to thank NSG for the generous grant and look forward to being able to renew these important neighbourly bonds again next year!
