Community Books and Toy Exchange Fair, bringing together 25 families for a day of resource-sharing, sustainability, and community connection. Parents and children arrived with gently used books and toys, eager to exchange them for new-to-them treasures. The event not only promoted literacy and creative play but also encouraged the circular economy, reinforcing the value of reuse over waste.

A key highlight was seeing children excitedly swap books and toys, fostering a sense of joy and responsibility in sharing with others. Families engaged in conversations about sustainability, and many expressed appreciation for an event that allowed them to declutter while benefiting others. Participants noted that the interactive, community-driven aspect of the event helped them form new connections with neighbours.

One challenge was ensuring a balanced variety of books and toys for all age groups. To address this, we encouraged attendees to bring a mix of items, ensuring equitable exchanges. Given the positive feedback and enthusiastic participation, we hope to continue organizing similar events, further strengthening community ties and environmental awareness.
