After receiving the grant I canvassed the complex about who would be interested in receiving an Easter basket. I purchased all the supplies and delivered to the doors of everyone who said they wanted one. Each basket contained a colouring book, sidewalk chalk, water guns, bubbles, an egg decorating kit, and some yummy Easter chocolates and snacks. I also included a bottle of bubbly apple juice for families to enjoy with their Easter dinners. In the baskets I included a note wishing a Happy Easter and encouraging families to get outside and use the supplies to write messages to each other and hunt for eggs which socially distanced.
They were a huge hit. We had many messages in chalk around the complex and many pictures of decorated eggs and smiling faces on our complex Facebook page.
