Subject: Gratitude and Feedback on the Art and Coaching Event for UNA Community Children on the 26th October, 2024.
I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the generous support of the UBC Inspired Community, which made the recent Art and Coaching Event for children in the UNA community at UBC a tremendous success. My name is Emem Nwogwugwu, and I had the privilege of organizing this meaningful initiative, which combined art and group coaching to foster creativity and build healthy self-esteem & empathy among our young participants from the UNA community.
The event featured an engaging session with an experienced art instructor who guided the children in creating their own paintings. Each child was thrilled to take home their unique masterpiece, which not only showcased their artistic talents but also reinforced a sense of accomplishment and confidence.
During the group coaching session, the children explored the importance of self-esteem, shared their perspectives, and learned valuable lessons in a supportive and inclusive environment. Witnessing their enthusiasm, creativity, and the connections they formed was truly inspiring.
The feedback we received has been overwhelmingly positive. One parent shared, “This is the best event I have attended in Canada for my children. They were so happy to learn, connect, and share their views on what they had learned.” Parents expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage their children in an activity that was both enriching and fun, while the children themselves were visibly excited and proud of their achievements.
Your sponsorship made it possible to create a lasting impact on the children and their families, fostering creativity, confidence, and a sense of community. I look forward to collaborating with UBC Inspired Community on future initiatives that continue to empower and uplift our community members.
I solved the challenges by being proactive, communicating frequently with the UBC Inspired grant community representative, Natalie Hawryshkewich who really helped me with the online payment form challenges and event hall booking as I didn’t book my hall early, which was a big mistake, I wanted to receive the payment first, don’t wait to receive payment before booking your venue, that contributed to why I did that. Thankfully with Natalie’s help, we got a venue, did the set up and the children had a great time. Natalie really did an amazing job with her support and proactive response to emails.
Once again, thank you for making this event possible. Your support has left an indelible mark on the lives of these young participants and their families.
