To celebrate rural life in healthy communities and bring people from neighbouring communities together, what better way to do that than to dance together? The Johnson Landing Community Hall was the perfect size to accommodate a square dance, with two squares of dancers (16 people) with room for several feet-tapping watchers and a 4 piece band plus caller on stage.
We used our hall’s new HVAC (air filtration) system for great relief from the smoke and the generator backup for earlier in the day when we had a power outage.
We definitely needed the short tutorial to start us off. Had some tasty treats and enjoyed plenty of hilarity, great exercise and good company of neighbours, mostly from our local small communities of Johnsons Landing and Argenta. We all agreed we need to do this sort of thing more often!
