Our project centered around creating Cyanotype prints using found materials at our local beach. The hope was to talk about sustainability and build community around making art together!

We ended up doing the workshop three times. The first workshop we did a trial run and we had a lot of fun teaching multiple intergenerational folks how to do Cyanotypes.

After that we advertised a formal workshop and had lower attendance. Through the advertisement, people who couldn’t attend expressed interest in learning so we offered another chance for folks to learn.

In the future, I think offering the workshops as a series, on multiple days of the week including weekdays and weekends, would increase attendance. Because creating cyanotypes depend on UV, it was also tricky taking a chance on the weather. Another option might be to use UV boxes so the variables are more controllable and can be offered indoors.

Overall, it was so much fun and we are so thankful for the NSG that allowed us to share this experience with our community!
