These online board games were such a big hit that we ended up holding three every week for over eight months! It gave everyone a chance to interact in a fun way, as we all wait until it’s safe enough to meet in person again.
We played Board Game Arena, Tabletopia and Jackbox. For smaller turnouts we’d get about half a dozen people, larger ones about a dozen, or sometimes over 20. Most attendees were from BC, though since it was online we’d sometimes get people joining from Ontario, Washington State, or even other parts of North America, and Europe as well.
Technology is a bit of a barrier, and newcomers often have trouble with the platform and game interface. However, the community is so kind and caring that they proactively help people get going so that everyone can have fun together.
