The Edgewater Legacy Garden was a great success! Members of the village came together to help weed and thin out the beautiful flowers. The children were rewarded for their hard work with refreshing Mr. Freeze treats. The pollinator workshop was well-attended, and the leaf cutter bees did an excellent job pollinating the garden and surrounding area. Community members learned about the vital role pollinators play and how to support them. In appreciation for the support from local businesses, volunteers picked flowers from the garden and created bouquets to gift to the Legion and Pips. These businesses were thanked for all they do to help the community thrive. The children had the chance to learn about how plants grow, as well as the different types of roots that flowers and weeds have. Volunteers also took the opportunity to learn how to identify the various flowers planted by the children.Looking ahead, volunteers are now working on cleaning up this year’s flowers to make room for planting milkweed, which will support next year’s butterflies. It was a wonderful day of community involvement, education, and giving back.
