Well, running my project was more difficult than I thought!
First, I needed the approval of the strata and I had to wait for the strata meeting. When they met, it was discussed and approved, and when they proposed a date that didn’t fit my schedule, I requested a different date and didn’t give up until we found a date that worked for every one. Then, I started with the poster, paying for the design, and I put it on the bulletin board and the entrance of my building so people could see it and sign up.
I got around 50 replies from families, and I waited until near the event date before buying the food as I didn’t want to waste anything. I got some cancelations the night before the event and others on the date of the event, but even still, sadly, the majority that confirmed didn’t show up, so the attendance was less than expected and I had a lot of unused food. Also, even though not all families wanted to be in the pictures, we had a good time and we were able to connect and meet other residents of my building that we would otherwise not be able to meet, except for the times we’ve gathered outside the building when the fire alarm system sets off.
I think for the next year I will continue offering projects to focus on children and creativity instead.
