Early Childhood Educators are invited to make their own felt stories to share with young children. Materials, patterns and ideas were provided. This workshop mentored teachers in the use of felt stories to engage young children in literature and play.
Felt stories are a great way to “re-invent” familiar songs or stories and to introduce new material or concepts. They provide a visual component which helps to keep children interested and engaged and often extends the learning and play.
During this workshop, the teachers made 2 felt stories, the very popular “A Sailor Went to Sea” and “Rainbow Stew”.
