This was a wonderful project to show thanks to frontline library heroes for their work during the pandemic.
The project lead was a child who took the idea to her classroom and invited everybody to think about why we are grateful for the library and how it was a great support during the pandemic season. With the help of an adult, the child assembled a giant thank you board together, and with the creativity of over twenty students, they decorated it with thank you notes and artwork. After talking with the library staff, it was decided that a plaque would be a good piece of recognition that could be displayed and shared across other Vancouver libraries. The plaque and board was presented to the library in Spring 2022.
The library was very touched to receive a gift of appreciation from young members of the community and we are so happy to have had encouragement from the Neighbourhood Small Grant Committee to carry this work out.
