Good Vibrations was funded by the Salt Spring Foundation’s Neighbourhood Small Grants Program. Project lead, Susan Gordon, invited Salt Spring Island equestrians, dancers, hobby horse creators, and musicians to come together in a collaborative performance with The Beach Boys’ iconic songs, “I Can Hear Music,” and “Good Vibrations.”
While there were endless aspects to consider, the choreography for this initial performance piece allowed horses and those on foot to integrate but keep a safe distance from each other. The routine provided a walk-trot pattern with basic lines, circles, and a pinwheel, allowing everyone the space to learn to work as a coordinated team.
