This cardmaking workshop set out to create a welcoming, creative space where people of all ages and abilities could come together to make something meaningful for others, and it fully achieved that goal. Participants ranged from children to seniors, bringing a wonderful mix of energy, patience, and perspective that led to unexpected collaborations and conversations across generations. One surprise was how quickly people who had never made cards before gained confidence and began experimenting with designs, techniques, and personal messages. Through the process, I learned that creativity doesn’t require perfection—just encouragement, good tools, and a supportive environment. The most memorable moment was watching participants proudly lay out their finished cards, sharing stories about who they hoped would receive them, turning a simple craft activity into a powerful act of connection and generosity.
