This is the second year I have applied for NSG to do gardening and then share the produce with my community. This year, I increased the variety and grew many different kinds of vegetables, both Bangladeshi and Canadian. I asked my Bangladeshi friends for help to bring vegetable seeds. It was great to grow food at home in Canada.
I threw a party at the end of August to celebrate the harvest. We had a barbecue and invited friends, families, neighbours and their friends. We shared the harvest together, and everybody, including community members in the River District, took the vegetables home.
My phone broke, and I lost all the photos, so I wasn’t able to send photos from the party. But this is a photo of the community garden at the co-op.
With NSG, I’m able to volunteer my skills and time for my community. I’m really grateful to the NSG and the helpful grant team. Thank you for making this happen.
