I sent out an email to all residents along the Kelly Lake Rd and also called those without emails. I posted a BBQ invite at the post office as well to capture anyone I might have missed
i invited TNRD Director Jim Smith as well as TNRD FireSmart Danny Funk and Terry Doi from Kamloops Fire/Rescue
I obtained hamburgers, buns, condiments onion and tomatoes from Costco and lettuce from my garden
TNRD sponsored hot dogs, potato chips water and pop as well we provided propane and Terry and Danny did the cooking
it was well attended with approximately 55 people there we held it at Kelly Lake and it was a brisk fall day so we got the wood stove rocking
The local church was there as well baptizing some people in the lake do we invited them in to warm up and have some food as well
after lunch I did a speech thanking the Neighborhood Grant for the $500 I invited Director Him Smith to talk and he acknowledged this fine opportunity as well
Danny Funk did an awesome slideshow on how to FireSmart our homes and ranches There was a great uptake on his business cards to go to peoples homes and help them FireSmart their places
unfortunately Jo Gosset who sits on your board was unable to attend
