mole hill is a city block of heritage houses in the west end. we created a pop up art gallery in our meeting room to foster community engagement. it was a great success in encouraging creativity and inclusion. people who had never participated in artistic expression felt welcome and lots of hidden talent came to light.we held well attended gallery openings for each artist of the month as well as a group show. volunteering to gallery sit brought neighbours together to network and socialize. the best part for me was returning art to communal ownership.
