Since the beginning of Covid, I started seeing on the news about how people are starting to lose their jobs and start struggling to get by, so when I saw the Neighbourhood Small Grant I knew it was my chance to do something to help those people I was hearing about on the news. My project was to make care packages to help vulnerable and homeless people in Burnaby stay safe from Covid-19. I applied for the grant to give the homeless and vulnerable items such as hand sanitizer, disposable masks, snacks(granola bars, Bear paws or Welches, Dad’s Cookies and Celebration cookies) and juice boxes. I made 120 care packages and donated extra boxes of snacks and juice boxes too. I made the packages with the help of my classmates. After we made the care packages I brought them to the Burnaby Homeless Shelter with my family.
