Our “Shagai game” event ( Oct 26, 2019) at Roundhouse Community Centre was a blast! Originally, we had hoped for around 50 people to come but we were overwhelmed when close to 100 people came and learned about Mongolian traditional games called Shagai (sheep anklebone). We had 3 game stations, about 10 instructors, a video projector, snack and drink station, and a busy arts and crafts station. People were interested in “Shagai Games” and were eager to know more about Mongolian traditions and customs.
As an organizer of this event, I want to express my gratitude & appreciation to Vancouver Foundation, Gordon Neighbourhood House, Roundhouse Community Centre & my fellow organizers for granting me this wonderful opportunity to make this event possible!

Neighbourhood Small Grants

We believe the best people to effect change in a community are the ones within it. And when we can make money less of an issue in doing so, it allows so many more kinds of ideas to shine.
