In the summer of July 2023, we invited members of our neighbourhood outside for a beginners’ doubles tournament. This was the second year this project ran, and it was a great success!
Similarly to the previous year, reservation of pickleball courts was not possible, so the participant count was kept low at 14 participants (7 teams). Coordination with the Richmond Pickleball Association was needed in order to ensure that there was no conflict with their training times.
Everyone came together to enjoy the beautiful weather, learned some new skills (and maybe even picked up a new hobby), and had a great time! This event would not have been possible without the help of the Neighbourhood Small Grants!
