Earlier this year, we received a Neighbourhood Small Grant in honour of seniors in the community who may feel forgotten and lonely during the course of the pandemic. Through this grant, we were able to put together 30 goodie bags filled with daily essential and feel-good items such as an activity book, candles, chocolate. towelettes, sanitisers, hats and gloves. these goodie bags were then set to be delivered to seniors in our Richmond community to put a smile on the senior-citizens faces. This project not only taught us about the gift of giving but also about reaching out in support of our local community members! We also had a really good time making and putting together the goody bags.
This project allowed us to connect and engage with our Richmond community and fill the gaps in our community. We had a really enjoyable time with this project and would like to thank the Neighbourhood Small Grants Program, Richmond Cares Richmond Gives and the Vancouver Foundation for making this project possible.
