It started as the process of learning how to take fibre from sheep and alpacas and turn it into useful items. We did two projects of learning to spin the wool which solidified the group as largely Indigenous youth. We then had this dyeing workshop. We’ve since gotten together to learn to blend colours so we can spin them and move on to the next step which is weaving!
we’ve had a great time together. We can gauge our time as one couple had a baby on the second day of our first workshop. We have additions of under 17 participants, not photographed.
Some members have gotten their own grants for other projects too. We’re building community through art and positive / safe spaces.
Thank you Neighborhood Small Grants! 😊
