We decided to offer our storytelling in conjunction with ‘screen free week’ in Revelstoke. It was one of a week of screen free after-school activities that would encourage community members to revel in storytelling and listening as an engaging, educational and fun activity.
We had a smaller but very passionate group on the first day and so offered two other storytelling events during the Summer and Fall.
Lots of people from Kindergarten students, their caregivers to summer camp attendees and adults in the park listened and participated in the beauty of interactive storytelling reminding us of our roots as oral information sharers.
