“Unveil the Beauty and Power of Belly Dance” workshops held on August 18th and 25th in Richmond. With 26 participants registered, it was truly a joy to share my passion for oriental dance with our community.
The journey leading up to the workshops involved planning and organization. I dedicated time in finding the venue, set the dates and time, outlining the workshop details. Designing an engaging poster and promoting the events through various social media platforms helped to reach out and spread the word.
Each workshop started with a warm welcome and warm-up exercise. We then dove into belly dance techniques, explored combinations, and even crafted our own choreographies. To conclude, we enjoyed a cool-down session and gathered feedback, encouraging open discussion among participants.
The project was a resounding success. Participants from diverse backgrounds united, connecting through the rhythms of oriental music. It was heartwarming to witness how belly dance encourages self-expression and promotes inner exploration, aiding in both physical and emotional recovery. The energy in the room was palpable, and everyone left with new skills and smiles on their faces.
Big thanks to NSG, program coordinator Jennifer DeWolff and mentor Lisa Wong for their generous support and funding that made this project possible.
Thank you for being a part of this journey. I look forward to sharing more dance experiences with you all in the future (^^).
