For the second year our Block Watch hosted a barbeque to invite our neighbours to come out and get to know each other. Creating connections with our neighbours allows us to develop a sense of community and desire to look out for one another.
The event was held on a Wednesday evening to allow as many to attend as possible. Our townhouse complex is relatively small but the turn out was very good.
The Richmond RCMP were invited to attend to speak to home owners about home security and safety and a number of regular and auxiliary officers, and several community policing volunteers joined us. They praised our community for hosting an event to bring us closer together.
