Twelve interested neighbours turned out on a beautiful day in July. A Regional District of Central Kootenay Wildfire Mitigation Specialist attended the event and led us through a review of firesmart principles and best practices, and together we learned what helps make a home safer and more resilient in a wildfire. Wildfire home protection sprinklers were set up and demonstrated to help the community further protect itself from the threat of wildfire. A barbeque lunch was provided to round out a lovely afternoon of learning, sharing, and connections.
