A great time was had by all! We actually hosted TWO parties this summer with the grant and supplemented by additional sponsors (eg. the posters and flyers were printed out-of-pocket and coffee/hot chocolate was provided by me and my co-organizers). There were now the 3rd meet-up put on for the street and even in door-knocking to deliver the flyers, we got to meet many neighbours!
We were able to host a pool party at a generous neighbour’s home and then a BBQ and “Cool Car Show” at another neighbour’s driveway. The kids came out and got some balloons done by the twister (thanks to the grant!).
Everyone had a great time meeting neighbours that they had never met before or learning the names of people that you see occasionally walking down the street past your house but never had the courage to introduce yourselves.
