What a great event! People love to paint, whether they are good at it or not. I wanted to see what diversity meant to people and how they would paint it. People of all ages were excited to participate and it was quite interesting to watch. I thought we would have to convince people to come and paint but I was surprised how eager people were to jump right in. Sometimes we even had people waiting in line to get a spot at the painting table. As people finished their paintings we added them to an ever growing collage of art which attracted a lot of attention and sparked discussions about what they thought they all represented. It was pretty awesome and I’m so grateful for the Neighbourhood Small Grant that made it all possible!

Neighbourhood Small Grants

We believe the best people to effect change in a community are the ones within it. And when we can make money less of an issue in doing so, it allows so many more kinds of ideas to shine.
