My project was a puzzle/games library. The purpose of this project was to help people take puzzles and games from the library, and they can put puzzles and games into the box as well for others to enjoy. This puzzle/games library works like the community libraries you may see at schools or around the neighborhood. The box was to help us be more sustainable. Once you are done with a puzzle, you usually throw it away, so in this way, it will help others enjoy the fun you had with the puzzle. How we wanted to get donations was to make our community more involved. How we approached this idea was to ask people to share their enjoyment with the community. They would drop off puzzles/games at my house, which did not end up working as we did not get any donations, but that is okay, as we have a bunch of puzzles that we do not need. The puzzle/games box location would be at O’hares as it is an easy way for people to play with them as they enjoy their meal. This project helped me learn how to reach out to my community and build connections with local businesses. I learned the importance of adaptability when the initial donation plan did not work. I discovered how to pivot this situation by using puzzles and games we have at home to donate to the box instead. This provides me with the skillset to be more sustainable and the value of sharing resources. The one skillset I would like to walk away from this project with is my adaptability, as it will help me problem solve and think of new ways to solve problems when things don’t go as planned. Learning and understanding that it is okay if your original idea had not worked out really helped me open my mind up. Remember that if not everything is going your way, do not give up.
